During past week, I saw two shell accounts are hacked. Both are on Dreamhost.
One of it is reported by Google Webmaster Tools. It said there are some malicious code found.
The other one is found, because that the memory usage is increased too fast, but no increase on PV.
I checked the account and be noticed some wired issues.
One of the important files, .htaccess is changed by a hacker.
It send web spiders, such as Google bots, Bing, ASK, to a third party site, which has a malicious code. The code may affect the user computers.
When user enter a wrong URL, user should see a 404 error page from the site. The hacker also send these users to the remote site, which has malicious codes.
SO, if you land the website on the right page URL, you will not see it.
It looks normal and no problems.
The hacker steal the traffic from the sites. And also has potential risk to the users of the site. How to fix hacked WordPress blog?
The way I did to clean it is that simply.
1) Export the data
2) Make a new shell account on Dreamhost
3) Point the site to new account
4) Install the fresh, updated version software
5) Import the data
Then last step to delete the old shell account.

This is also a test post to see how PostTwiOAuth 0.46 send notice to my twitter.

Add Facebook like button in my Blog. The installation is easy and fast, just 5 minutes. Republishing took me about 17 minutes.
This plugin adds MT tags to display Facebook Like button.
The Like button lets a user share your content with friends on Facebook.
When the user clicks the Like button on your site, a story appears in the user’s friends’ News Feed with a link back to your website.
The installation steps as below: INSTALLATION
1. Unpack the FacebookLike package.
2. Copy the contents of FacebookLike/plugins into /path/to/mt/plugins/
3. Select “Tools > Plugins” menu in your blog.
4. Configure the plugin’s settings
5. Insert <$MTOpenGraphMeta$> in your HTML header (
6. Insert <$MTFaceBookLike$> in the section
where you wish to display the “Like” button.
The Gallery 2 import is good to transfer all photos from old, Gallery 2, to Gallery 3. But sometimes the thumbnail is not converted completed. Some photos thumbnail are missing.
So, I installed Rebuild Items module.
Gives the administrator the ability to rebuild items (thumbs and re-sizes) as well as EXIF data. It marks the items in the database as ‘dirty’ and Gallery will then attempt to fix those items that are marked as dirty.
I have a WPMU installation used for years. One MU plugin I use is Ada WPMU Sitewide Feed.
Until WordPress upgrade to 3.0. It has multi-site support internally. So, upgrade WPMU to WP 3.0.1.
The problem just found that Sitewide feed does not work any more.
No content in the feed.
I went to the author site of this plugin.
In the comment part, Brad Williams pointed the solution to fix this problem.
