I bought a WD Blue 4TB HDD at Amazon.ca. $99.97 plus tax.

It is an upgrade of my desktop PC.  This 4TB HDD replaced the old WD Blue 1TB and a 250GB SATA SSD.

The WD40EZAX has the following features.

  • SATA 3 (6Gb/s)
  • 5400 RPM
  • CMR
  • Cache Size 256M
  • Transfer Rate 185MB/s
  • 2 year limited warranty

I ran a performance benchmark test with Samsung Magician software.

  • Sequential Read 210MB/s
  • Sequential Write 202MB/s
  • Random Read 244IOPS
  • Random Write 732 IOPS

I hope it can work like its previous friend. The one I took down is WD10EZEX. It was made on July 19, 2015. Almost ten years old. Still in good condition. I put it in my PC server for temporary storage.
