The smoke alarm was beeping every 30 seconds in my hallway on the second floor of my home on May 10th. It means it was broken. I took it down and checked the body. I have a date on it, which is the day I installed it. It has been over 10 years. The Smoke alarm must be replaced every ten years, whether it is working or not, with a battery or out of battery.

I went to the Costco on May 13. The KIDDE Smoke Alarm was on sale with a twenty-dollar discount.  The original price is $79.99. The total I paid is $79.99 – $20 +$1.5 Eco fee, plus Tax, around $65.

I installed the base plate on the ceiling. Test the device. Then mount it on.

It is working perfectly.

I will not worry about it for the next 10 years.
