Recently, I received a new network card. X520-10G-1S-X8. It is a 10G NIC Intel 82599EN Controller, SFP+, PCIe X8 network card.

The brand is 10Gtek.  I bought it on Tmall. The price is RMB152, = CA$30.

I installed it on the Proxmox VE system to replace the old 2.5G NIC that I had installed two years ago.

The PVE is connected to my TP-Link SG3210XHP-M2 switch through the SFP+ DAC cable.

I can tell that port 9 is 10G speed. I plug the DAC cable into port 9.

The iperf speed test is done on my desktop. The desktop is connected to the switch on a 2.5G connection.

iperf3 server on PVE host.

iperf3 client on my Windows 11 desktop.

The speed is 2.34 Gbits/sec.

Check the basic information of the 10G NIC.

So far so good. I will check the speed when a new adapter at my front door. I can test both 10G connections on my desktop to the PVE system.
