Here is a program called Folding@home.

It is pretty simple. Just download a program and install it on your computer. It will run in the background. The main job of it is to help scientists studying Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, and many cancers by simply running a piece of software on your computer.

Download the desktop program here

And install it by double click it.

After installation, and start run it. The Client Control windows shown as below,

The more powerful of your computer’s CPU and GPU, the faster the job is done.

It is not working on Windows only. Linux, including debian, centos, ubuntu, mint, redhat, etc are supported. You can also install it on OSX.

Yeah, start to donating your computing time to this program.
