Protect wireless network without Encryption

There are six steps to secure the wireless netword. I feel it is too complicated for me at home.
I don’t want to remember the Password or WEP key.
So I choose the step 4 to protect my Home wireless network.
It is Enable MAC filtering
Allowing wireless connection only to known MAC address. MAC (Media Access Control) address is an unique identifier attached to most network adapters.
I wrote down all nic mac addresses. Including desktops, by command ipconfig/all, XBOX, DS lite, Sipura SPA voip adaptor, Wii, by look at the back of the box.
Encryption does slow down the transfer speed. Even the CPU overload on the router.
