Download and Upload Speed with Shaw

I have a Shaw Cable High Speed Internet at home.

It has following features.
# Up to 5 Mbps download speed
# Up to 512 Kbps upload speed
# 60 GB/month data transfer
# 10 Personal email accounts
# 7 No Cost Extras
# Up to two IP addresses**
# 24/7/365 technical assistance

I tested the speed with my D-Link WUA-1340 Wireless G USB 2.0 Adapter.
Download Speed 4.7Mbps,
Upload Speed 449kbps,
Ping 92ms.

Sounds OK with Shaw's commitment.
The test tools is provided by Shaw Cable.

To have a more fair speed test results, I tried the third party online tool.



Speedtest.net has a lot of testing servers all around the world.
I tested 8 locations results shown as below.

4817 kb/s 482 kb/s 54 ms Los Angeles, CA ~ 1100 mi
4838 kb/s 491 kb/s 42 ms Vancouver < 50 mi

4604 kb/s 478 kb/s 113 ms Washington, DC ~ 2350 mi
4581 kb/s 438 kb/s 308 ms London ~ 4750 mi

It proved that Shaw's own speed test tool is right.
