Google and Firefox

Google works better with Firefox web browser.
Click the button rightside to download Firefox with Google toolbar.

I use IE and Mozilla Firefox at same time. I feel CSS presentation has a little difference. The reason is that IE has so many extensions which are not W3C standard. If the website designed following by the web standard like CSS 2.0 standard and XHTML 1.1 standard, Firefox will do the better job.

Put music file into your Blog

| 8 Comments | No TrackBacks

I wrote a entry before regarding How to put music on a webpage.
There are still some guys who can not follow it.

Let me show your HOWTO step by step with illustration.

0) The file size of most of the music files is more than 1 Mb. The default upload limit of MovableType is 1MB.
To change the default setting, open the mt-config.cgi under the MovableType root folder.
Find: #CGIMaxUpload 500000
Remove the #
Change the figure to whatever you want, say 5000000 as 5MB.
Save it.

1) Prepare your music file.
First of all, you should have your own music file legally. Say it is a mp3 file like abc.mp3 in the local folder of your computer.
mp3file.gif

2) Log in to your MovableType and create an new entry.
createnewentry.gif

3) Upload abc.mp3.
follow the points 1, 2, 3.
uploadmp3.gif

Enter the folder to store the fils.

4) Let it show you the HTML code.

Road of TV standard

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

The road of TV shown as follow:
1) Regular TV / Analog TV
2) SDTV
3) EDTV
4) HDTV

SDTV (480i)
SDTV shows the digital signal in 480i, which means 480 lines of the video are drawn on the screen using the interlaced method. Interlaced refers to the way the signal is sent and how the TV displays it. The advantage to SDTV over your regular, analog TV (which is also 480i) is twofold:

SDTV is digital (clearer, crisper picture)
SDTV accepts digital programming (i.e., the FCC has mandated that eventually all broadcasts will be sent in one of the digital formats created by the ATSC, American Television Systems Committee).

EDTV (480p)
EDTV is defined as 480p, which stands for the 480 lines of the screen are used to draw the picture using the progressive scanning method. You may have heard of progressive in reference to DVD players - progressive scan DVD players have become standard.

Progressive scanning means that all of the lines in the frame of the video are painted onto the screen in sequential order (1, 2, 3, 4, ... up to 480) at one time. Compared to the numbers connected with HDTV (1080i or 720p), 480p might not sound all that great, but progressive scanning creates a cleaner, crisper picture because it's displayed at one time. Therefore, even though the number is the same as SDTV (480), the method used to put it on your TV screen uses the more advanced technique (progressive scanning).

HDTV Technology is complex with numerous benefits to broadcasters and program providers, but the value to the viewer can be reduced to three things:

Resolution
The crisp, life-like detail you see with HDTV is due to the resolution this technology provides. It's like the difference between the old dot matrix printers and the laser printers we use now.

The picture you see on your TV screen is actually thousands of small dots, called pixels (which stands for picture elements). Your regular, analog TV displays about 200,000 pixels. HDTV displays 1 million to 2 million pixels (up to 10 times the resolution of the picture on a regular TV).

Currently, digital TV broadcasters have been using two different formats for sending HDTV - 1080i (interlaced) and 720p (progressive). It doesn't really matter which format the broadcaster uses (1080i or 720p), because most people can't even tell the difference when they're watching HDTV.

Aspect Ratio
Aspect ratio is simply the proportion of the width of the TV screen to the height of the TV screen. Regular TVs use a 4x3 aspect ratio, which means the picture is a little wider than it is tall (a screen that is 20 inches wide is about 15 inches tall).

HDTV uses the widescreen (16x9) aspect ratio used in the film industry. Therefore, the TV that is 15 inches tall would be 27 inches wide.

The widescreen format provides a more compelling viewing experience because it mimics our peripheral vision - our field of vision is much wider than it is tall. Additionally, you get to see more of the action.

Digital Signal and Sound
Digital signals can be compressed, enabling a much more robust signal with no variation in quality. Digital signals, in contrast to analog signals that are used with regular TVs, can be reproduced precisely because they use the sames 1s and 0s that are used with computers. Therefore, you won't see ghosting, snow or fuzziness with a digital signal.

This is my guide to install the brand new MovableType 3.2 on the Windows platform. Some contents are from 6A.
If you are newbie, it is right for you.

Overview
Movable Type can run in a wide variety of environments, letting you choose the operating system, web server, and database that you prefer. This guide covers installation of Movable Type on the Microsoft Windows platform.

Introduction
I provide guidance for installation of the MySQL database server and assume use of Windows' built-in Internet Information Server (IIS) web server. In addition. I suggest ActiveState's ActivePerl scripting for Perl support.

Prerequisites
You may need your installation media for the Windows operating system. In many modern systems, your machine will come pre-loaded with necessary installation files on the hard drive. In other cases, you may need your original CD-ROM or DVD.

* Install latest system software, service packs, and system updates.

* You'll need an active internet connection. If you're developing for a staging or development environment on a portable machine or one that's intermittently connected, Movable Type does not require an active Internet connection after setup.

* You'll need administrative permissions on the system which you are configuring to run Movable Type, so that you can install applications.

* You'll need an editor suitable for working with plain text files; Windows includes WordPad which can serve this purpose.

* Windows Server 2003 has much higher security settings by default. This means some additional steps are required for some of these tasks, as noted in the documentation.

Steps to Installation:

Free Software

During past three weeks, I am learning the GNU/Linux. At the same time, I am shocked by the spirit of the Free Software.

I decided to change my programing way to Free Software, or Open Sourc Software.

Free Software Foundation
is an excellent source of inforamtion.

Why Software Should Be Free

I will move to opensource and let the Pentacle In out Board free to be access.
From Pentacle Free Limited to Pentacle Silver to Pentacle Gold, over hundreds copies are downloaded.
This software will be combined to one as Pentacel In Out Board. It is totally free to download, free to use, free to modify, and it is a opensource software.

The site, www.g2soft.net, will host max 4 opensource software.

Everything is changed by Free Software.

Where can we got the ROMs?

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

To use the M.A.M.E. emulator, you can download the software from the official site.

Only the emulator is not enough. You need the ROMs to play the game, because the game saved as ROM file.

Here are some ROM site:
http://www.romnation.net/
http://www.mameromlinks.com/
http://www.rom-world.com/
http://www.arcadeheaven.com/
http://www.starroms.com/

Download the ROM files, and save them into the folder rom under the mame root. Then you can play.
